Our President & CEO!

Our Customer Services Staff Team Includes:
On November 14, 2007, our Board of Directors approved the hiring of Dr.
Erlinda Avena, D.M. as the agency's new President & CEO. Dr. Avena has
been with the organization formerly as its Executive Vice President and
Chief Operating Officer. She is a Doctor of Management in Organizational
Leadership. She also has a Master in Business Administration and a
Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. She is bilingual and
bicultural in English/Spanish. Dr. Avena has over 30 years of professional
management experience in the areas of budgeting, organization,
personnel utilization, contracts and procurement, program development
and community collaborations. She also has expertise in small business
development, organizational performance analysis, management
consultation and business and leadership training. She has directed and
supervised employees throughout her career in several management
leadership roles. Dr. Avena reports directly to the agency's Board of
Directors and her leadership role includes the general management and
operations of the agency including funding development and grant
writing, providing leadership and guidance on implementation of agency
program services and staff supervision.  

Dean Brown, MPA
Housing Program Manager

Dean has a Master in Public Administration with 20 years
experience in administration, career counseling and case management.

Carel Strydom
Housing Specialist II

Carel has professionally worked more than 12 years as a mortgage
loan officer. He also has 14 years of customer service experience.

Lily Galarza
Office Coordinator

Lily has over 20 years experience in customer service,
office administration and case management.

Chris Montano
MIS Administrative Assistant

Chris is a high school graduate with three years experience
in customer service and a strong interest in housing counseling services.

Jesus Reyes, BA
Receptionist

Jesus has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and 8 years
experience in customer service and records management.

Dr. Erlinda Aguirre Avena, DM, MBA, BSBA
All agency counseling staff are required to enroll in and pass certification for
housing counseling and default/foreclosure prevention counseling. Standard
courses generally taken are

HO250: Homeownership Counseling Principles, Practices and Techniques,
HO103: Lending Basics for Homeownership Counselors,
HO109: Beginning to Intermediate Foreclosure Prevention,   
HO345: Foreclosure Intervention and Default Counseling Certification, Part 1,
HO320: Innovative Solutions to Combat Mortgage Default.
